On March 30, 2026. the Intelligent Transportation Society of Taiwan (ITS Taiwan), with strong backing from the Taipei City Government and policy support from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, officially established the Project Management Office (PMO) for the 2029 ITS World Congress and held an opening ceremony in Taipei.
As the PMO’s lead implementing organization, ITS Taiwan will oversee overall project management and coordinate preparations for the Congress., marking a new stage of dedicated and centralized planning for one of the world’s premier ITS events.
Cross-Sector Governance: ITS Taiwan Brings Together Government, Industry, Academia and Research
The PMO was formally established with the full support of the Department of Transportation, Taipei City Government, in collaboration with ITS Taiwan. The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives from the Taipei City Government, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, ITS Taiwan, as well as industry, academia, and research institutions, underscoring close collaboration among the public and private sectors.
